Vanity size guide
Getting vanity width right is the difference between a calm bathroom and a cramped one. Use this guide to shortlist sizes, then confirm clearances against your plans - or bring measurements to Elenni Loganholme.
Common vanity widths
- 600-750 mm - powder rooms and compact ensuites; usually single bowl.
- 900-1200 mm - the most common main-bathroom single vanity range.
- 1500 mm and above - larger bathrooms and many double-bowl layouts.
Always measure the finished wall-to-wall space, then subtract clearances for shower screens, doors and toilet pans. Leave comfortable elbow room at the basin.
Wall-hung vs freestanding
- Wall-hung - floats off the floor for a lighter look and easier cleaning underneath. Confirm wall structure and plumbing set-out with your installer.
- Freestanding / floor-standing - simpler for some renovations and useful when wall fixing is limited.

Bowl, tap and mirror clearances
- Bowl type - above-counter bowls need taller basin mixers; inset and undermount bowls usually suit standard mixers. Cross-check basins and basin mixers.
- Tap holes - confirm 0, 1 or 3-hole configurations before you order the vanity top and mixer.
- Spout reach - the stream should land in the bowl, not on the deck.
- Mirror and lighting - centre the mirror on the bowl (or between bowls) and plan LED or wall lights before tiling.
