Brushed gold vs French gold
Choosing between brushed gold and French gold is mostly about undertone and how bold you want the metal to read against tiles and vanity timber. Both are warm golds - but they do not always match each other in the same bathroom.
Commercial differences (what renovators notice)
- Undertone: Brushed gold usually reads softer and more satin; French gold often looks richer and more statement under warm lighting.
- Tile pairing: Brushed gold sits easily with stone, timber and soft neutrals. French gold can carry darker tiles, marble-look slabs and higher-contrast vanity fronts.
- Maintenance feel: Warmer metals show water spotting and fingerprints differently than chrome. Wipe with a soft cloth after use; avoid abrasive cleaners that dull a brushed surface.
- Matching sets: Keep mixers, showers and accessories in one gold family so the elevation reads intentional.
